AOT is a small family–run design company based in Copenhagen. Driven by challenging materials, they aim to liberate these materials from what is expected of them. Oxdenmarq was founded in 2003. The goal was to produce reasonably priced furniture from exclusive materials like vegetable tanned saddle leather. Making affordable furniture is a core value OX still pursue in everything they do. Before finishing the design studies at the Copenhagen Design University, Dennis Marquart completed a Blacksmith education. Craftsmanship is a key for OX in everything they do. Many OX products are shaped around marble or vegetable tanned saddle leather. Stone and leather are materials that will and should get marks over time but they will also age with a very special beauty. When you learn to appreciate the beauty of maturity and of time passing, you have learned to appreciate patina the way it should be: appreciated.
