Un’common is a Polish design studio creating furniture from the finest materials such as marble, wood, and steel. At the core of the brand lies stone, the starting point of its design language and the essence of its identity. The founders believe that furniture should be more than well–designed functional objects; it should be a feast for the senses. It should evoke emotion and offer a tactile, multi–sensory experience. At their workshop on Portugal's Silver Coast, De La Espada combines artisanal furniture making savoir faire with rigorous, research–based contemporary design. Their portfolio of iconic and timeless pieces includes designs by their in–house studio, De La Espada Atelier, and by great figures in the world of international design. Specialising in woodworking and upholstery, they also collaborate with Portuguese artisans across disciplines. De La Espada sits at the heart of design and craft in Portugal and represents true luxury: creativity rather than imitation; extensive research and development; traditional methods that are in scarce supply; a singular aesthetic point–of–view; and no compromise when it comes to materials or effort.

Gemla is a contemporary furniture maker—and always has been. Yet at the same time, they verge on being an anachronism. Always have. The company was founded in 1861, specialising in steam–bent furniture. It’s steam that makes bentwood furniture so exceptionally durable, yet graceful. On the factory floor, guided by the knowledge of craft, the brand meets patience, care and sustainability, passed down through generations. It’s no coincidence that its pieces are in high demand for hotels and restaurants—settings that require equal parts aesthetics and durability.
