This is the fundamental idea that LOOPE is based on, a new brand, launched by Polish–based, Studio Rygalik who has spent the last years surveying what it means to own furniture, protecting our planet from plastic waste. The result is LOOPE. This brand offers a furniture suite, called the Effects range, that includes five collections, Armstrong, Rounder, ALLin, OneL and faT Table. The distinct idea: made with 100% recycled material, after years of use, any of the products in the range can be returned and transformed into another currently available product.

Tools for Everyday Life is a project showcasing the community of practice surrounding the BA Furniture and Product Design programme at Northumbria University. This community has evolved through a dialogical approach to teaching and learning, where academic and technical staff act as facilitators in an ongoing process of shared inquiry with students. The project sets design briefs to create everyday objects that bring joy in use, proposing artefacts that recognise and celebrate the innumerable skilled actions that shape daily life. The aim is to draw inspiration from materials and processes that not only define the objects people interact with but also shape the relationship with the surrounding environment.

By normalising the presence of sculptures and artistic objects, Kristina Dam Studio brings art out of the exclusive realm and into communal spaces, enriching the environment and inspiring those who inhabit it. The ethos of ‘Sculptural Minimalism’ continues to guide the studio, as it designs products that merge functionality with aesthetic refinement.
