XL EXTRALIGHT® is an ingredient brand developed by Finproject S.p.A., since 2021 part of Versalis (Eni). For more than sixty-one years the
company has stood as a beacon of excellence in the production of thermoplastic, expandable and cross-linkable compounds and in the manufacturing of soles and other ultra-light products. Approximately three times lighter than comparable materials with similar mechanical performance, XL EXTRALIGHT® is composed of polyolefin-based granules ideal for expanded and injection-moulded products. It combines extremely low density with durability, flexibility, colour versatility, and a soft touch feel. Its closed-cell structure prevents water absorption and bacterial growth and ensures resistance to UV rays, saline environments, and chlorine. These qualities make XL EXTRALIGHT® a preferred material for companies developing innovative, high-performance products in the footwear industry and in other industrial sectors.
