Marmorkirken (Marble Church) is a breathtakingly beautiful piece of architecture. This iconic church took nearly 150 years to complete with its beautiful brass dome and intricately detailed marble columns and walls.
A few blocks away is the Amalienborg palace which was constructed in the mid-18th century for four noble families. Today each palace houses a member of the Danish royal family. If you see a Danish flag flying above one of the four palace roofs it means that a member of the Royal family is home. If you’re lucky, you might see one of them riding around Amalienborg on their bikes. The Royals, they are just like us.
The surrounding cobblestone streets have undergone significant development in recent years, with galleries and classic furniture design stores populating the historical streets.
