Carlsberg Byen is a brilliant showcase of how city development can transform a neighbourhood. Originally the private industrial area of Carlsberg Brewery in the 1800’s, the district has been revitalized mixing historic and modern design elements. The original entrance with the four grandiose marble elephants remains intact along with the same cobbled streets that the brewery horses and beer carts used to travel. Down the road are modern housing developments and the European School which has made the neighbourhood friendly for international residents and families. If you’re looking for some greenery you can continue through the elephant entrance up the hill to Søndermarken park and visit the Cisternerne underground art space. During 3daysofdesign the area will be a bustling area to learn about city planning, whilst enjoying a beautiful exhibition in Mineralvandsfabrikken, curated by BRIQ in collaboration with 3daysofdesign and the City of Carlsberg.
