New Light Pottery is a lighting manufacturer based in the ancient former Japanese capital of Nara. Founded in 2015 by designers Hiroyuki Nagatomi and Chizu Nara, the company creates understated designs that highlight the textures and natural beauty of brass, glass, ceramic and traditional Japanese washi paper. Each lamp is handcrafted in Japan by skilled artisans. A–N–D is a decorative luminaire design studio and manufacturer where original collections are conceptualised, built, and assembled in–house. The name A–N–D is derived from 'A New Detail.' The studio explores new design possibilities through innovative production methods and by integrating the latest lighting technologies. In pursuit of the visually poetic, A–N–D is inspired by the unexpected and the everyday—compelled by light’s ability to shape and animate space.
