Related Exhibitions
United by a focus on material awareness, production quality, and design integrity, the Objects of Desire exhibition presents contemporary practices developed through considered processes and skilled execution. This exhibition establishes a platform which convenes a selected group of international designers and makers working beyond mass production. Designers explore form, technique, and detail through processes informed by material properties and production methods. The exhibited objects are the result of in-depth material research, technical expertise, and time–intensive development.

Frostline is designed and handcrafted in Denmark, offering a range of uncompromising, frost–free outdoor showers and taps. Each product is meticulously crafted to elevate outdoor spaces—even when not in use. Inspired by the principle of “form follows function,” founder Roland Thorsen combines a sculptural design language with an uncompromising approach to craftsmanship. Rooted in engineering, Frostline stands as a symbol of timeless, purposeful design made to endure.

For more than 55 years, FRANDSEN has worked with light and lighting, and this is still a cornerstone in the heritage. Under the headline ‘In celebration of light’ FRANDSEN's goal is simple: unfold the many functions of good lighting—be it visual, social or sensual, to enrich people’s everyday lives. Through ambitious collaborations with international designers, FRANDSEN aims to further explore the interplay between light, material, and form. A lamp might still be a lamp, but FRANDSEN will perpetually push the boundaries of what’s possible, creating lighting solutions both functional and yet aesthetically pleasing.

Blå Station is a family business based in a former sewing factory in Åhus, on the south–east coast of Sweden, where the ocean is as restless as the brand itself. Their focus lies on the interiors that surround us—how they are built, how they function, and how people interact within public spaces. Questions about changing social behaviours and evolving demands continually inspire new ways of thinking. To meet contemporary needs and desires, Blå Station believes in maintaining an open and innovative mindset, guided by childlike curiosity and a firm rejection of shortcuts and apathy. With inspiration from natural stone and craftmanship, Cosentino seeks to inspire the creativity of architects and interior designers worldwide with carbon–neutral surfaces produced with natural minerals, reused materials, and renewable energy: technical, ultracompact stone and mineral hybrid surfaces for architectural facades, wall claddings, bathrooms, kitchen countertops, and interior design.

BIRDMIND is a Spanish company developing circular materials for architecture and interior design. Based in Galicia, it transforms agricultural waste into high–performance, sustainable solutions through applied research and industrial processes. Its flagship product, Rice Tab, is a technical board made from rice husks, offering durability, versatility and key properties such as fire resistance, water repellency, anti–fungal performance and being formaldehyde–free. Produced with renewable energy, zero water footprint and a closed–loop system, BIRDMIND materials are designed for real applications in interiors, furniture, retail and contract, demonstrating that sustainability and performance can go hand in hand.
