Schönbuch – a German furniture brand that stands out thanks to its clean designs, expressive colours and wide choice of finishes. As well as aesthetics, functionality and quality are fundamentally important, be it in storage systems with their endless possible variations or individual furniture items and accessories. A specialist in entrance areas, Schönbuch is now equally at home in all living and commercial spaces. The products in its portfolio are not just functional but designer pieces with exquisite craftsmanship and delicate features. Simply beautiful!

The Blue Movement show at Odd Fellow Palace offers a glimpse of the Schönbuch design world. Bestsellers and signature pieces meet new products – and they all have one thing in common: a blend of clear forms and distinctive details. From coat stands and storage cabinets (both are showcase Schönbuch products) to upholstered seats, mirrors and accessories. A festival of colours headlined by blue, curated and presented by creative director Carolin Sangha.

Copenhagen-based design company FRIPON is relaunching the classic Philosopher Lamp, designed by the Danish architect Lars-Erik Ejlers in the early 1990s. The lamp was originally made for Restaurant Cap Horn in Nyhavn. In the following years, the lamp, designed with a notable brass shade, became a rarity due to very limited distribution but still found its way and is gracing iconic bars and restaurants throughout Copenhagen. FRIPON’s first endeavour is to breathe new life into the classic Philosopher Lamp, once again.

The Philospher Lamp is produced locally in workshops located in the metropolitan area of Copenhagen.

MENGEL is a Danish design brand launched during Milan Design Week in 2022. The company is rooted in a minimal, elegant design vision that balances refined aesthetics and raw materials, with pieces that are simple yet sculptural in their purest form. MENGEL products play on contrasting material characteristics, as with concrete from silky smooth surfaces to rough and unpolished details, and warm wood, creating balance and the foundation for harmony.
Sensibility and tactility in our surroundings is much needed to anchor us and create spaces in which we can relax and be grounded. MENGEL products possess these qualities and has a strong connection to natural materials, both aesthetically and in quality.

Since its inception in 2013, Signe Byrdal Terenziani has facilitated the growth of the design community in her role as Managing Director. It all began as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2023, over 250 brands exhibited at the festival, where visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, networking events, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly during the second week of June from Wednesday to Friday. In 2024 the festival will be held from 12 - 14 June.
