Vipp might have begun with a pedal-controlled bin (the only bin that has found a spot in MoMA’s permanent design collection) but over the last 80 years, the Danish brand has grown to include kitchens, furniture, lighting, and accessories. In recent years, Vipp has expanded beyond objects to design and open six hotels as well as two venues in Copenhagen: the Vipp Pencil Factory and Vipp Garage. Whether it is developing a bin or a kitchen, creating a furniture line or hosting a hotel or supper club, Vipp always measure the quality of products and concepts on their long-term ability to provide an experience out of the ordinary.

Modern people need modern furniture to accommodate modern requirements in modern homes. That was the thinking behind Poul Cadovius’s unique, visionary and award-winning Abstracta® System, which was launched back in 1962. That conviction still applies today, as a brand new generation of the Abstracta® System is ready to meet modern people’s demand for functional and stylish design.

The philosophy at the root of the new generation is exactly the same as back in sixties, as is the design and the countless combination options. However, the color and material options have changed with the times. The biggest modification is in the core of the system - the new Abstracta® connectors that hold the structures together.

3daysofdesign is a curated design festival. In order to be eligible to participate as an exhibitor, you have to meet a specific set of criteria. Interested individuals, companies and brands can apply directly online via our application page.

It all began in 2013 as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavian

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2023, over 250 brands exhibited at the festival, where visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, networking events, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly during the second week of June from Wednesday to Friday. In 2024 the festival will be held from 12 - 14 June.
