Carl Hansen & Søn represents more than 115 years of Danish furniture history infused with respect and passion for artisanal craftsmanship. The world's largest manufacturer of designs by Hans J. Wegner, the collection of Carl Hansen & Søn also includes works by renowned design masters such as Kaare Klint, Poul Kjærholm, Vilhelm Lauritzen, Ole Wanscher, and Børge Mogensen. 'Balanced Principles' unfolds a refined exploration of what defines enduring design. At the Bredgade flagship store, visitors can experience the dialogue between heritage design and new creations—rooted in a thoughtful balance of material, form and function. Alongside presenting new works by Fabricius Kastholm and Øivind Slaatto, the exhibition reflects on Hans J. Wegner’s enduring approach to craftsmanship. An engaging workshop hosted by the design studio Mentsen—known for their mesmerising mobiles crafted from surplus wood—also invites visitors to interact during 3daysofdesign. Together, these perspectives illustrate how balance continues to shape meaningful, contemporary design.

Scandtap combines durable stainless steel with elegant, timeless forms rooted in Scandinavian design. On the occasion of 3daysofdesign, Johan Borups Højskole opens the doors to its historic mansion in Copenhagen’s Cultural District, inviting visitors to explore the graduation showcase by emerging Nordic voices. This semester’s final exhibitions feature a project from Design & Ceramics—an artistic education where tradition meets contemporary culture in an open, exploratory atmosphere. Set within the school’s historic courtyard and interiors, the showcase highlight the culmination of a semester shaped by dialogue, curiosity, and craftsmanship. Founded in 1891, Johan Borups' is a Danish ‘højskole’—a creative community based on growth, collab and reflection.

Gemla is a contemporary furniture maker—and always has been. Yet at the same time, they verge on being an anachronism. Always have. The company was founded in 1861, specialising in steam–bent furniture. It’s steam that makes bentwood furniture so exceptionally durable, yet graceful. On the factory floor, guided by the knowledge of craft, the brand meets patience, care and sustainability, passed down through generations. It’s no coincidence that its pieces are in high demand for hotels and restaurants—settings that require equal parts aesthetics and durability.

Marrimor objects are made to be as delightful as they are purposeful, a touch provocative too. Each piece comes into being by way of a relentlessly collaborative process, one that balances refinement with irreverence. Tanja Breadner and Lauren Bugliarisi both shoot for the moon, creatively speaking, albeit from reverse angles, drawing on different histories. Tanja brings Swiss sensibilities to the platonic design partnership, and Lauren an East Coast drive. They create through playful debate, continually pushing their respective boundaries to reach that Goldilocks–like zenith between too little and too much. They know they’ve landed as soon as they agree.

Based in India, the studio is rooted in ancient wisdom, where sustainability and care are integral to everyday living. Working closely with local artisans and locally sourced wood, the furniture draws from South Asian traditions of sitting and spatial setting. Naturally seasoned, aged trees—crafted without nails or screws—form the core language of the work. A life–centred approach ensures no harmful disruptors enter the environment, protecting everyone from maker to end user. Continually pushing the boundaries of furniture typology, the studio explores Indian minimalism while revisiting traditional skills through a contemporary lens, creating pieces that hold space and life in equal measure.

Aisti is a Finnish material technology company manufacturing suspended ceiling acoustic tiles from renewable wood fibre. Using foam–forming technology, fibres are transformed into a light and structured material that delivers high acoustic performance while remaining safe, recyclable and competitively priced. Aisti’s products are designed to meet the needs of architects, contractors and developers, combining performance, material efficiency and scalability. The aim is to support the construction industry’s transition towards healthier, lower–carbon and more circular building solutions.

With a playful yet refined approach, Mizetto challenges conventions in contract furniture through pieces defined by flexibility, longevity and character.
