David Design embraces individuality and rejects conformity. They challenge the status quo, striving for something beyond the ordinary. Refusing to compromise for over 30 years, they stand firm on that commitment. Founded in 1988 by former pop star and DJ David Carlson in Malmö, David Design emerged during a time when Scandinavian design was undergoing a second wave of global attention. The brand played a vital role in revitalising the spirit of Scandinavian design with a fresh and modern approach. Years later, David Design remains true to its vision. Today, it stands as a well-established international brand, attracting followers seeking iconic, functional, and sustainable furniture and accessories.

During 3dayofdesign – David design will open a pop-up showroom with yesterdays and tomorrow design classics. Come and explore furniture and furnishings that are not temporary. They are created to withstand times and trends. Sustainable materials combined with a design expression that should last, each icon is manufactured to be able to go through generation to generation. Timeless aesthetics and well-thought-out manufacturing ensure that each piece of furniture retains its status for decades. Probably more.

In 2009 two designers, sharing a neo-modernist vision of functional, elegant design, decided to break free of PR-driven product strategies to create a furniture company focusing on the interplay between object and context. In order to realise their vision, they assumed control of the entire production chain – manufacturing, sales and marketing. This pioneering approach has paid off handsomely, not only in design clarity, but also in distinguished awards, renowned clients and representation in the permanent collection of the Swedish National Museum of Arts.

Since its inception in 2013, Signe Byrdal Terenziani has facilitated the growth of the design community in her role as Managing Director. It all began as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2023, over 250 brands exhibited at the festival, where visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, networking events, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly during the second week of June from Wednesday to Friday. In 2025 the festival will be held from 4 - 6 June.
