This year, 3daysofdesign introduces another new initiative to bring the press, exhibitors and our global design community even closer together — Long Table Dinners. Designed to be relaxed, informal gatherings conducive to conversation, connection, and moments worth remembering.
Inspired by the curiosity and eagerness of our festival guests to share more moments together, our Long Table Dinners transform dining into a social design experience. Drawing on traditions of communal dining, the long table becomes a simple, welcoming setting where visitors can sit side by side, share their perspectives on design and impressions of the festival, while breaking bread together. Forming new friendships, potential partnerships, and creating meaningful moments that last beyond the three days of our festival.
Our Long Table Dinners will take place every evening during 3daysofdesign and will be hosted in carefully–curated dining venues at each of our eight Design Districts. Featuring different dinner formats, from cosy, more intimate gatherings to larger communal tables, so that guests can choose from a variety of experiences.
“The aim of our festival has always been to create an intimate atmosphere where people can gather for conversation, to exchange ideas and connect with each other. Our Long Table Dinners are a natural evolution of that idea — inviting our community to meet around a shared table and enjoy great food, along with spontaneous conversations that are part of what makes our festival a truly intimate experience. A space where everyone is offered a seat a the table, reflecting our belief in the democracy of design.”
— Signe Byrdal Terenziani, Co–Founder & Managing Director of 3daysofdesign
More than a meal, our Long Table Dinners invite visitors to actively participate in the festival experience by connecting with designers, brands, the press, and each other. In doing so, they will help shape the vibrant spirit of our 3daysofdesign community. Tickets for the dinners are available to book now. The gatherings are designed to be inclusive rather than exclusive, with a range of price levels and table sizes that allow any registered 3daysofdesign visitor to reserve a seat.
As each day of our festival draws to a close, the dining venues will open their doors. The tables will be set. And dinner will be served. Each evening offers a different atmosphere in an array of settings, from rooftop views and private gardens to intimate lounges and courtyard feasts. Whether you reserve a seat at a long, lively table or one that’s smaller and cosier, it will be the perfect opportunity to Make This Moment Matter. Explore our Long Table Dinner options:
Gather high above the harbour for a relaxed rooftop picnic at the historic Langelinieskuret. Built in 1894 by Vilhelm Dahlerup, this listed heritage building located along Copenhagen’s iconic waterfront overlook views of the Øresund. You can almost hear The Little Mermaid singing, while enjoying a sampling of savoury delights.
Set along the water’s edge, guests are invited to an intimate lounge setting aboard the historic ferry, Gammelør. The dinner menu celebrates seasonal ingredients — seafood and vegetables — served in a relaxed environment overlooking the harbour. The evening unfolds slowly, with space for conversation and the rhythm of the sea nearby.
Enter a peaceful, serene garden where a long table is set beneath the open sky. Surrounded by vibrant design and architecture, the garden offers a welcome escape with moments to reflect and connect.
In a calm courtyard garden hidden away in the heart of the city, guests are welcomed into a green oasis for a relaxed summer gathering. Immersed in a lush landscape under the soft evening light, enjoy this celebration of food, nature, and conversation in a secluded setting.
A table is set with a variety of carefully–composed Italian dishes designed for sharing. Dinner is served family style with a curated wine pairing. Promising a convivial evening shaped by conversation, generous portions, and the slow pace of a long meal enjoyed together.
Tucked away in our new Design District Islands Brygge, dinner awaits you in one of Copenhagen’s historic craft workshops. Here, the setting is a collaboration between craft, creativity and food, with the chance for deeper conversations with artisans, all in a unique setting with loads of character.
The former epicentre of Denmark’s central post office, Postbyen has been transformed into a new neighbourhood, offering the ideal setting for communication and transformation. Here, the long table becomes part of the urban fabric, bringing guests together in a contemporary venue where design, city life and dining converge.
Along the quiet canals behind Holmen is a rustic boathouse once used by the Danish Navy. Now the home of renowned architectural practice, 3XN, the space merges history with modernity, connecting guests to Copenhagen's maritime culture. Enjoy a carefully curated meal as the evening extends between indoors and outdoors, while taking in the serene atmosphere, in a relaxed yet refined setting surrounded by water.
