Copenhagen based Icelandic designer Dögg Guðmundsdóttir creates nature inspired products with emotional appeal and a distinctive touch of Nordic originality. Many of her designs are based on foundational structures or pieces of art, while others form part of a collection. For this exhibition, nature is not merely an inspiration but an integral part of the essence of the works and of the installation, created in collaboration with Dýpi—an ocean paint made from calcareous algae harvested in Iceland. Dýpi was nominated for the Icelandic Design Awards 2025 for its product that is exceptionally breathable, environmentally friendly, plastic–free, and an innovative use of abundant natural materials.

A good piece of furniture only becomes more beautiful through time and use, as lived life leaves its mark on the materials.

Based on high–fired ceramic landfill waste such as discarded toilets and sinks, ØDELAND works to rethink value, resources, and material cycles. Kilzi means many things to its founder: it is his family name, weird in his context and a symbol of other lands, Kilzi is the family context and a story of immigration and personal growth, it also means ancient history and heritage, movement, renewal, childhood.
