For 60 years, Ingo Maurer has been designing and manufacturing exceptional designer lamps that bridge the gap between everyday objects and art. The Munich–based company's internationally renowned designs can be found in the collections of some of the world's most important museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Under the creative direction of Axel Schmid, Head of Product and Project Design, the team develops iconic luminaires that combine technical precision with a playful and often ironic design approach. Ingo Maurer's products are designed to surprise and inspire. As well as creating serial luminaires, the company has also made a name for itself as a designer of public and private spaces around the world.
Here we YaYaHo again: At the Alice Folker Gallery, Ingo Maurer presents the latest development of his iconic low-voltage lighting system YaYaHo. Since its introduction 42 years ago, YaYaHo has fundamentally transformed the understanding of light within space. The exhibition showcases new elements, refined materials such as Japanese paper, and technical updates that bring the system into the present, highlighting its enduring innovation, flexibility, and poetic approach to illumination.
