Nine studios on the 4th floor in Frederiksgade 1 open their doors and share how, why, and where their work is created. 4th floor is a community of studios sharing a creative space in downtown Copenhagen.The open studio event, Working Title, is an opportunity to go behind the scenes and visit a combination of contemporary designers, photographers and a publisher. The studios will present work in progress within high end product design, photography and architecture. Blå Station is a family business based in a former sewing factory in Åhus, on the south–east coast of Sweden, where the ocean is as restless as the brand itself. Their focus lies on the interiors that surround us—how they are built, how they function, and how people interact within public spaces. Questions about changing social behaviours and evolving demands continually inspire new ways of thinking. Atelier Vierkant is a Belgian family–run ceramics studio, founded in 1992 in Ostend, and recognised for its handcrafted design pots that marry artisanal tradition with contemporary aesthetics. PAP DECO is a family–run Polish manufactory that has become a pioneer in creating hand–carved furniture handles and wall decorations using traditional casting techniques. With more than 30 years of experience in metallurgy, the brand has been evolving across generations, with its founders—brothers Piotr and Marcin Papliński—working alongside their father, Jerzy, who instilled in them a passion for working with noble brass. The pieces crafted directly by the artisans are artistic objects with ergonomic functions, each one a timeless example of functional art. PAP DECO creates not only unique brass handles and decorations with sculptural forms, but also other fully personalised ornamental elements.
