Atelier Vierkant is a Belgian family–run ceramics studio, founded in 1992 in Ostend and recognised for its handcrafted design pots that combine artisanal tradition with contemporary aesthetics. Every clay piece is made, shaped and fired in Belgium, ensuring full traceability and a unique character that bears the signature of its maker. With an understated, organic design language and natural earthy tones, Atelier Vierkant pots function as both functional planters and architectural sculptures for indoor and outdoor settings. The brand’s creations have achieved international acclaim, gracing luxury residences, prestigious hotels and global design projects, while retaining uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship and quality.

During this year’s 3daysofdesign, Atelier Vierkant presents in two locations: the Vipp headquarters in Islands Brygge—where architecture, interior, and hospitality design meet a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and art—and Den Frie, a leading contemporary art institution. At Vipp, the studio unveils a new object balancing nature’s chaos and unpredictability with the harmony of earth and clay, offering insight into the inventive minds and skilled hands behind the Belgian ceramic studio. At Den Frie, within DESIGN / DIALOGUE, visitors can closely explore materials and textures. Monumental ceramics invite touch, revealing strength, beauty, experimentation, and artistic freedom that define Atelier Vierkant’s DNA.

What began over 20 years ago as a spontaneous experiment in Tom Rossau’s Copenhagen workshop has evolved into a distinctive design philosophy. While shaping wooden slats into a cylindrical form, Tom discovered the expressive potential of light, material, and form, and a new chapter in Danish lighting design was born. Today, the collection has grown to include a wide range of materials and styles, yet the brand remains rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and sculptural design. Each lamp is still meticulously designed and handcrafted in Copenhagen, with a strong focus on quality and responsible production, bringing Danish design to interiors around the world.

Jan Kath Design has revolutionised the world of rugs. For nearly 30 years, the brand has been shaping the international design scene with its work. While the creative language spans a broad spectrum, production remains deliberately rooted in tradition. Each carpet is crafted using centuries–old hand–knotting techniques in selected workshops in Nepal and India, certified for sustainability by the Swiss label STEP. Knot by knot, skilled artisans translate the designs into textile art. Only premium natural materials are used, including hand–combed Tibetan highland wool, fine Chinese silk, and Nepalese nettle. This balanced material composition gives the rugs a distinctive tactile quality and a deep, layered presence beyond the surface.

Marrimor objects are made to be as delightful as they are purposeful, a touch provocative too. Each piece comes into being by way of a relentlessly collaborative process, one that balances refinement with irreverence. Tanja Breadner and Lauren Bugliarisi both shoot for the moon, creatively speaking, albeit from reverse angles, drawing on different histories. Tanja brings Swiss sensibilities to the platonic design partnership, and Lauren an East Coast drive. They create through playful debate, continually pushing their respective boundaries to reach that Goldilocks–like zenith between too little and too much. They know they’ve landed as soon as they agree.
