Throughout history, tools have been crucial to humanity’s ability to survive and innovate, from primitive stone tools to advanced machinery, tools have been key to shaping the world. VÆRKTØJ is an exhibition format that aims to communicate and demonstrate how the identities of designers are largely shaped by the tools they use; as tools not only drive the development of ideas and creative processes but also leave a distinct mark on the final product.

VÆRKTØJ 2 : The Workshop Press. The tool that has been selected for this years exhibition and from which all works derive, is the workshop press. Participants: Alvilde Holm, Depping & Jørgensen, Frederik Gustav, John Tree, Jonas Trampedach, Kasper Salto, Michael Antrobus, and Tom Dixon.

Stelton is an innovative Danish design house founded in 1960, with ambition to create timeless and functional design that enhances everyday life. Magniberg is a bed–wear brand with a multilateral approach based in Stockholm, Sweden. After careers in the fashion industry, founders Bengt Thornefors and Nina Norgren partnered to find a new expression in bed–wear, establishing Magniberg in 2016. The brand is steeped in cultural references, imagination and emotional aesthetics. It is about craftsmanship, with an insistence on sourcing only the best quality fabrics.

Founded in 1920 by Commander Adelino Dias Costa, Adico began its journey manufacturing iron beds. By the 1930s, the company had expanded into hospital furniture and introduced a signature line of outdoor tables and chairs—most notably, the iconic Portuguese Chair. Since the 1990s, Adico has been at the forefront of innovation, focusing on the creation of contemporary indoor and outdoor furniture. With a strong commitment to design and technology, Adico continues to stand out in both national and international markets as a symbol of quality, tradition, and modernity.

Iteration Collective is a newly established design collective of 12 young designers. The community has emerged from a shared desire to create and challenge each other, pushing creative boundaries to enhance their skills as designers. Through close collaboration, members tackle new design challenges, each producing original works based on a shared design brief with defined constraints and objectives. Recognising the importance of responsible design practices, the group is dedicated to exploring new approaches, challenging conventional norms in furniture design and to pave the way for more eco–conscious solution. With hope to inspire future design generations and contribute to the dialogue surrounding design innovation and sustainability.
