Throughout history, tools have been crucial to humanity’s ability to survive and innovate, from primitive stone tools to advanced machinery, tools have been key to shaping the world. VÆRKTØJ is an exhibition format that aims to communicate and demonstrate how the identities of designers are largely shaped by the tools they use; as tools not only drive the development of ideas and creative processes but also leave a distinct mark on the final product.

VÆRKTØJ 2 : The Workshop Press. The tool that has been selected for this years exhibition and from which all works derive, is the workshop press. Participants: Alvilde Holm, Depping & Jørgensen, Frederik Gustav, John Tree, Jonas Trampedach, Kasper Salto, Michael Antrobus, and Tom Dixon.

Warp & Weft is a boutique design studio based in New York City, renowned for its luxurious, handcrafted rugs that marry artistry and functionality. Koukos de Lab is a material–driven design studio based in Lesvos, Greece, exploring sustainable design through research, experimentation, and local production. The studio develops innovative materials and objects by transforming agricultural by–products into meaningful design resources. At the core of its practice is Koukoutsi, an eco–material made from the final waste of olive oil production, primarily olive cores and pips. Designed as a sustainable alternative to conventional materials, Koukoutsi combines durability, water resistance, and a distinctive tactile quality. Suitable for objects, furniture, and surface applications, it reflects Koukos de Lab’s commitment to circular design and responsible material transformation today, locally.
