Throughout history, tools have been crucial to humanity’s ability to survive and innovate, from primitive stone tools to advanced machinery, tools have been key to shaping the world. VÆRKTØJ is an exhibition format that aims to communicate and demonstrate how the identities of designers are largely shaped by the tools they use; as tools not only drive the development of ideas and creative processes but also leave a distinct mark on the final product.
VÆRKTØJ 3: The Sewing Machine. The tool that has been selected for the third exhibition and from which all works derive, is the sewing machine. Participants: Erwan Bouroullec, FrederikGustav, Foster + Partners Industrial Design, Jonas Trampedach, Kasper Salto, Louise Campbell, Lærke Ryom, Michael Antrobus, Pearson Lloyd, Sia Hurtigkarl.
