Established in 1980, Linie Design is a Danish design house with traditions deeply rooted in Scandinavian design. Today, Linie Design is one of the largest developers of handmade rugs in Europe, sold in over 70 countries, including in their own brand store in Copenhagen. All rugs are handmade in India by skilled weavers and crafted from carefully selected materials, chosen for their durability and unique properties. With great respect for craftsmanship, Linie Design continuously challenges traditional weaving and knotting techniques, pushing creative boundaries in the development of new designs by experimenting with materials, shapes, and textures.
The exhibition Echoes of Texture, hosted by Linie Design and Karimoku Case and curated by Pernille Vest, explores the sensory and aesthetic qualities of materials through Japanese minimalism and Nordic craftsmanship. Karimoku Case’s subtle and functional design merges with Linie Design’s depth and structure in their handmade rugs, creating a tactile and refined expression. The exhibition is a poetic and curated stage of materiality, where objects serve as both functional pieces and conveyors of texture and atmosphere. Linie Design and Karimoku Case, who share Norm Architects as designers of several new pieces, invite viewers to sense, feel, and reflect on the role of materials in design and architecture.
