For 3daysofdesign, Johan Borups Højskole opens the doors to its historic mansion in Copenhagen’s District Kultur, inviting visitors to explore two graduation showcases by emerging Nordic voices across disciplines. This semester’s final exhibitions feature projects from Design & Ceramics and Architecture & Arts—two distinct yet connected expressions of artistic education where tradition meets contemporary culture in an open, exploratory atmosphere. Set within the school’s historic courtyard and interiors, the showcases highlight the culmination of a semester shaped by dialogue, curiosity, and craftsmanship. Founded in 1891, Johan Borups' is a Danish ‘højskole’—a creative community based on growth, collab and reflection.

Tools for Everyday Life is a project showcasing the community of practice surrounding the BA Furniture and Product Design programme at Northumbria University. This community has evolved through a dialogical approach to teaching and learning, where academic and technical staff act as facilitators in an ongoing process of shared inquiry with students. The project sets design briefs to create everyday objects that bring joy in use, proposing artefacts that recognise and celebrate the innumerable skilled actions that shape daily life. The aim is to draw inspiration from materials and processes that not only define the objects people interact with but also shape the relationship with the surrounding environment.

Public Crafts focuses on preserving and reintroducing traditional Japanese materials, which are fading from modern life, through design and spatial composition. The team collaborates with skilled craftsmen in Japan to create handmade products. Additionally, Public Crafts partners with Pure Fabrications, a small atelier based in Copenhagen that creates textiles and clothing entirely by hand in collaboration with its local community. Orla Culligan creates unique slip cast ceramics for the home in Clonakilty, Cork. She strives to provide high–quality products that bring joy to the owner’s home while keeping her business sustainable by minimising waste and maintaining a low environmental impact. The original inspiration for her work comes from discovering 'rubbish' washed up on the beaches where she grew up in East Cork. As she walks along the beach, flotsam and jetsam become tangled among the seaweed, their bright synthetic man–made colours standing out. Upon closer scrutiny, these objects reveal a gorgeous range of textures where the sea has intervened; seams and edges have softened, yet evidence of the making process and the machine still remains.
