Make This Moment Matter

Encouraging a collective recalibration from 'more' to 'meaningful'

The creative mind is a curious thing, ceaselessly searching for ideas invisible to others. When faced with a design dilemma, there’s one question that inevitably arises: What is the essence of design? Often people look to legends from the past for answers, while others look to the future.

Where does the answer actually lie? In that profound place in between: the present. A fascinating departure point that led to our new theme: Make This Moment Matter.

Although the creative process often begins with a 'blank page,' out of that nothingness and uncertainty comes clarity. Focus. A reason for being. The purpose that propels a designer to create something in the first place. In short, the why behind an idea, which makes it riveting and relevant beyond its form and function.

Yet, with so much mass production and pollution, do we really need another design? The result is a world longing for depth.

Make This Moment Matter captures this cultural zeitgeist, reflecting a collective recalibration from 'more’ to 'meaningful.' Because a design without purpose is static, merely occupying space. But a design imbued with meaning and emotion will matter.

It’s a message that resonates on many levels. When you Make This Moment Matter, you’re making conscious choices about the designs you bring into your life. With products that won’t harm the environment, spaces that enhance your wellbeing, and places that foster a sense of belonging.

Do something good that does something good

As consumers, the choices you make today will matter tomorrow. It starts with being present. Unplugged from habitual thought patterns and always being on autopilot. It’s about choosing substance over superficialities, timeless vs. temporary. Putting a priority on sustainable products that are mindful of the planet and the people who inhabit it.

Implicit in the theme is an imperative, encouraging both consumers and designers to be proactive without all the answers. It signals a sense of urgency, where every moment is an opportunity. Your actions will inspire others, and that will have a ripple effect.

It’s not difficult to make the world a better place. Such as random acts of kindness, which someone, in turn, will do for someone else. Kindness is contagious. Start small, think big.

The new age will belong to those who master meaning

Which begs another question: What legacy do you want to leave behind Life is a mosaic of moments, where the only moment that matters is now. There’s no time like the present.

See you in Copenhagen 10 — 12 June 2026. Until then, Make This Moment Matter.

3daysofdesign is Denmark’s annual design festival, conceived as a platform to showcase and celebrate great design. It’s the opportunity to meet, network and be inspired by designs from local and global talent. The informal atmosphere welcomes people to engage directly with design brands at stunning locations all over Copenhagen.

Since its inception in 2013, Signe Byrdal Terenziani has facilitated the growth of the design community in her role as Managing Director. It all began as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2025, over 460 brands exhibited at the festival, where over 60.000 visitors could choose from as many as 600+ events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, product launches, networking, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly in showrooms and galleries during June, Wednesday to Friday. In 2026 the festival will be held from 10— 12 June.

Pack your bags, book a hotel and come to Copenhagen! 3daysofdesign is open to the general public and everyone is invited to visit the showrooms, exhibitions, workshops and design talks. All events are free of charge.
