Nanette de Kool graduated from the Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago. Back in Europe she worked for textile studios in Antwerp and Amsterdam, where her love for 3D knits began. Nanette loves working with circular 3D knits: remains like leftover textiles and yarns including production flaws. Imperfections are part of the creation; tactility and the texture of the fabric add to her visual language. She screen-prints, washes, cuts and then re-assembles the textile, creating new compositions. This leads to more depth in color, character, texture and story. Next to wall-hangings, Nanette also makes suspended screens, room-dividers and made-to-measure pieces.

During 3daysofdesign Nanette de Kool will show a selection of her one of a kind sustainable textile pieces: wall hangings, framed works, and room dividers. Seeing these pieces in real life will show you the texture and tactility of the works. Nanette will also host some walk-in workshops where the common goal is to create, at a slow pace, to empty your mind for a little while... Specific times of workshops will be announced.

Koukos de Lab is a material–driven design studio based in Lesvos, Greece, exploring sustainable design through research, experimentation, and local production. The studio develops innovative materials and objects by transforming agricultural by–products into meaningful design resources. At the core of its practice is Koukoutsi, an eco–material made from the final waste of olive oil production, primarily olive cores and pips. Designed as a sustainable alternative to conventional materials, Koukoutsi combines durability, water resistance, and a distinctive tactile quality.
