THE SWISS ATELIER

THE SWISS ATELIER is Switzerland’s official presence at 3daysofdesign, celebrating the country’s innovative and refined approach to design. It takes place in two prime locations in the heart of the festival: THE EMBASSY ATELIER at the Embassy of Switzerland, Store Kongensgade 128, and THE SWISS COFFEE ATELIER at Original Coffee, Store Kongensgade 124, each offering a distinct experience that highlights Swiss creativity, craftsmanship and design excellence.

THE EMBASSY ATELIER explores how used materials gain a second life through design. At the main entrance, the Swiss brand FREITAG presents WASTE IS OUR RESSOURCE, a sensory installation showing the durability of upcycled truck tarps shaped by weather, movement and time. Visitors then enter the Embassy of Switzerland to explore SEEKING SAILS, curated by Hannes & Fritz with twelve designers from Denmark and Switzerland, proposing new uses for discarded sailcloth. THE SWISS COFFEE ATELIER, curated by Hannes & Fritz with Geberit, offers an experience focused on water, design and innovation, where atmosphere and interaction translate technical excellence into a sensory social space.

The concept behind Woodnotes, established in 1987, is to combine artistic creativity inspired by Finland’s rugged nature with technology to shape beautiful local raw materials. The softness of wool, the purity of paper and the glow of linen define a collection of timeless products with rare aesthetic quality. Woodnotes’ unique paper yarn innovation results in durable, allergy–friendly designer rugs and blinds made from paper yarn and cotton. These are presented alongside outdoor rugs, tufted wool–linen carpets, and atelier–woven rugs in cotton–paper and wool–paper yarns, among others.

JAPAN FORM is a Stockholm–based curatorial platform founded in 2024 by interior and furniture designer Hironori Tsukue and Reiko Tsukue. The platform introduces contemporary Japanese craftsmanship to the European market, focusing on material precision and functional clarity. JAPAN FORM is the exclusive European representative of porcelain lighting artist Hirotaka Tobimatsu. Born in Saga, Japan, he creates sculptural porcelain lighting that reinterprets early 20th–century opal glass forms. Each piece is hand–cast and carefully finished, offering soft light and architectural presence.
