Revolving around South Asian design sensibilities passed down through generations, of playing with symmetry, breaking it while retaining the quality—the exhibition explores Indian minimalism when translated to contemporary furniture, the pieces not ripped off from their actual marks & textures rather preserved as ornaments signifying the rich textures, colours, motifs native to the Indian subcontinent. Like a draped Indian garment, which does not differentiate in size & function, offering varied uses, the pieces offer a similar opportunity. Removing the need to accumulate excess, the pieces demonstrate craftsmanship, traditional wisdom, mindful living & allow the user to understand furniture typologies beyond the usual.

Why This Moment Mattered
We have always seen design in the broader context of its influence on society as a whole. As a conduit for connection and a catalyst for transforming life as we know it.
