Wood Zone is a Danish furniture design and manufacturing company. The brand is focused around high quality furniture and home decor items in solid wood - mainly oak and walnut. The product selection involves dining tables, coffee tables, bed frames, benches, chairs, lamps etc. All production takes place in Wood Zone's own carpentry in Northern Jutland. Production is another central part of the Wood Zone brand. All furniture is made with love for the traditional Danish craftsmanship traditions, however, with a modern touch. This is Wood Zone's way of ensuring long lasting furniture in timeless designs that can be passed down in generations.

During 3daysofdesign, Wood Zone's exhibition will give an insight into the brand's vision of creating longlasting furniture in timeless designs. Stable products will be in focus alongside new designs, which symbolizes the evolution of the brand. The exhibition takes place in the Lapidarium of the Kings, which also creates a beautiful atmosphere for the furniture. This historical place matches very well with Wood Zone's focus on traditional craftsmanship, but is also in beautiful contrast to the modern nordic aesthetic that Wood Zone furniture is build around.

Tools for Everyday Life is a project showcasing the community of practice surrounding the BA Furniture and Product Design programme at Northumbria University. This community has evolved through a dialogical approach to teaching and learning, where academic and technical staff act as facilitators in an ongoing process of shared inquiry with students. The project sets design briefs to create everyday objects that bring joy in use, proposing artefacts that recognise and celebrate the innumerable skilled actions that shape daily life. The aim is to draw inspiration from materials and processes that not only define the objects people interact with but also shape the relationship with the surrounding environment.
