A Danish design brand, and concept store founded in 1953 in the heart of Copenhagen by Hagbarth Skjalm Petersen and his spouse Lisbeth Westergaard. A centre for home interior and lifestyle items designed to inspire to an aesthetic and more sustainable lifestyle. The original design philosophy of H. Skjalm P. is still: focusing on sustainable production and natural materials, notably the organic GOTS certified textiles. The H. Cumellas designs and produces contemporary handmade rugs. Based in Barcelona since 1992, its work reflects a deep understanding of craftsmanship and a distinctive approach to design. Natural materials, colour and texture are at the core of the brand’s DNA, shaping rugs that respect both the origin of the materials and the social context in which they are made, while emphasising craftsmanship.
