Omarcity is a creative studio and platform. As a platform they present collections from sustainable brands and inspiring designers. These designers come from cities you may not associate with design, they are all unique, held to the highest quality, and chosen because of their personal love for design and beauty. The common thread? They all aim to rescue their traditional crafts, while reinventing the designs, recovering the techniques, and showing innovation through the materials. As a studio they set up collaborations, design objects, curate expositions and turn spaces into places. Omarcity inspires you to look beyond the trends and invites you to explore new possibilities in architecture, design, art and lifestyle.

During the 3daysofdesign festival, Omarcity will take over District Refshaleøen, a former industrial site in the harbor of Copenhagen. This area, known for its rough, concrete aesthetics, will be vividly transformed by Omarcity’s bold and colorful designs. As a studio, they are excited to present a curated installation featuring various designers. The installation offers a glimpse into Omarcity’s creative universe, turning this public space into a warm and welcoming environment brimming with stories. There will be showcased a diverse range of both collectible and contemporary design and art, creating a rich tapestry of narratives that invite exploration and engagement.

Kaikale is an India-based furniture brand rooted in local craftsmanship and people-driven making. In collaboration with the Scandinavian architect Alexander Mihel, the work brings together traditional Indian carpentry and Scandinavian design principles. Kaikale x Alexander Mihel presents a furniture collection developed over 2,5 years through a hands-on collaborative process. The collection is made using carpentry-based methods, working with established hardwoods and also experimenting with non-forest timber such as coconut timber. In India, the coconut tree has traditionally been fully utilised, with every part used. The furniture continues this approach by giving coconut wood a long life as durable, long-lasting pieces.
