SAIKAIHOP, by Saikai Europe, traces its origins to the Japanese town of Hasami, where the history of porcelain production and innovation spans more than 400 years. As a subsidiary of ceramics trading company Saikai Toki, Saikai Europe’s operations centre on a lineup of original brands merging contemporary design with Hasami’s manufacturing expertise. In addition to its in–house collections, Saikai Europe provides distribution services in the European market, working closely with Japanese brands and makers dedicated to quality, craftsmanship and the creation of timeless wares. Every piece is designed and manufactured in-house in southern Sweden, drawing on decades of making high-end bespoke furniture and kitchens. On the occasion of 3daysofdesign, Johan Borups Højskole opens the doors to its historic mansion in Copenhagen’s Cultural District, inviting visitors to explore the graduation showcase by emerging Nordic voices. This semester’s final exhibitions feature a project from Design & Ceramics—an artistic education where tradition meets contemporary culture in an open, exploratory atmosphere. Set within the school’s historic courtyard and interiors, the showcase highlight the culmination of a semester shaped by dialogue, curiosity, and craftsmanship. Founded in 1891, Johan Borups' is a Danish ‘højskole’—a creative community based on growth, collab and reflection.
