SAIKAIHOP, by Saikai Europe, traces its origins to the Japanese town of Hasami, where the history of porcelain production and innovation spans more than 400 years. As a subsidiary of ceramics trading company Saikai Toki, Saikai Europe’s operations centre on a lineup of original brands merging contemporary design with Hasami’s manufacturing expertise. Established in 2025, FIRPON's first endeavour is to bring the light back to the somewhat mythical Filosof Lamp, created by the notorious architect Lars-Erik Ejlers (1948–2024). Lars-Erik Ejlers carried the lamp with him wherever he went, from the bar at Hotel D’Angleterre to Holstein Bodega, turning Copenhagen’s nightlife into his personal showroom. To own a Filosof Lamp was to own a piece of a story, as it was often purchased directly from him during a late-night visit to a city bar, making it both rare and iconic. FRIPON now carries his vision forward, bringing the Filosof Lamp back to shine in modern spaces.
