United by a focus on material awareness, production quality, and design integrity, the Objects of Desire exhibition presents contemporary practices developed through considered processes and skilled execution. This exhibition establishes a platform which convenes a selected group of international designers and makers working beyond mass production. Designers explore form, technique, and detail through processes informed by material properties and production methods. The exhibited objects are the result of in-depth material research, technical expertise, and time–intensive development.

New Light Pottery is a lighting manufacturer based in the ancient former Japanese capital of Nara. Founded in 2015 by designers Hiroyuki Nagatomi and Chizu Nara, the company creates understated designs that highlight the textures and natural beauty of brass, glass, ceramic and traditional Japanese washi paper. Each lamp is handcrafted in Japan by skilled artisans. Supporting Japanese craftsmanship and the artisans who keep these traditions alive has been central to New Light Pottery’s mission from the very beginning. Keeping production in Japan also allows for minor adjustments, special orders and unique finishes.

Founded in 2021, DEORON is an independent curatorial platform positioned at the crossroads of design, research, and lifestyle culture. Through its webshop and ongoing daily research, it encourages a slower, more deliberate approach to discovering objects, cultivating a community of creatives who prioritize meaning, intention, and craftsmanship over mass production. Originally conceived as a digital-first project to rethink how design is experienced and accessed, DEORON has since expanded into the physical realm. Following the success of its debut and second MDW 26 edition which featured +70 designers, across collectible and industrial design pieces from emerging brands and established firms.

Davidpompa is a Mexican lighting studio focused on materiality, research and craftsmanship, creating collections that explore the beauty of raw materials. Founded by designer David Pompa, the studio collaborates with artisans across Mexico, combining traditional techniques with a contemporary design language. The work is rooted in respect for material and process, where each piece reflects heritage and refined design. Materials such as clay, stone and metal are central to the collections, shaped through skilled craftsmanship and ongoing material exploration. Hind Rabii places emotion at the heart of design, conceiving light as both expression and experience. Founded in 2005, the studio collaborates with a select circle of creative partners, sharing a vision where material becomes language. Murano glass, ceramic, brass, and marble are shaped into luminous objects imagined as jewels for space—timeless, sculptural, and emotionally resonant. Technology lies at the core of this poetic approach: engineering and design merge to create architectural lighting defined by precision, invisible integration, and durability. Beyond objects, Hind Rabii builds a virtuous ecosystem, working with Venetian artisans and carefully chosen distributors who embody shared values, poetic, technical, and ethical.
