CHICHOIMAO

Founded in Hong Kong in 2019, CHICHOIMAO is a woodworking studio co–founded by one human and two cats. Its name, 自在貓，Cantonese for a “cat at ease,” reflects a philosophy of in the moment. Although the Year of Singularity nears, the studio still believes human touch and emotional memories still count, preserved through analogue creations rather than digital ones. Every work is handcrafted with joinery techniques to honour minimalist forms and the tactile warmth of timber. These pieces bring harmony to modern homes, helping people slow down and find beauty in the lasting, soulful moments of the everyday.

During 3daysofdesign 2026, CHICHOIMAO will host an intimate pop–up exhibition in Copenhagen. The space, set up as a small, curated living room, will showcase the brand’s philosophy of “cat at ease.” Visitors can explore selected collections and discover the latest products launched.

Japan Creative is a non–profit organisation composed of members who are involved in the field of design and engaged in material research. When one traces the process by which everything is created, one finds that its origin lies in the materials. As those who are involved in design in Japan, blessed with rich diversity of materials, Japan Creative focuses on the inherent backgrounds, characteristics and potential of materials themselves, reevaluating their value through a designer’s perspective. What started back in 2012 as a one–man show has now, in little more than a decade, become an established European design brand: Freifrau Manufaktur. Operating from Lemgo, a small town in Westphalia, Germany, this exclusive manufacturer of seating furniture is characterised by the highest possible levels of comfort, lovingly–rendered details, and exacting quality and sustainability standards. Working with big–name designers and those at the start of their careers alike, since it was founded, Freifrau has built up a portfolio of timeless chairs, armchairs, and settees, wide–ranging and yet all with a unifying emphasis on individual comfort, total versatility, and undeniable individuality.

Bread and Butter is an itinerant exhibition platform that explores everyday rituals through the concept of paired objects. Transforming everyday spaces—such as bookstores, salons, restaurants, and parking lots—into stages for collaboration, designers from different generations and cultural backgrounds translate their personal routines and local traditions into perfectly matched pairs. Just as "bread and butter" signifies something essential and inseparable, the paired objects form functional, aesthetic, and social relationships—quietly conveying each designer's experiences and contexts, while opening space for new connections and creative dialogue with local communities.
