Less Noise, More Truth

Longfei Tōsei Wang is a self taught ceramicist with a unique expression in the form of quiet simplicity that speaks directly to the heart. We asked him, what the 3daysofdesign 2025 theme KEEP IT REAL means to him.

What are your thoughts on this year’s theme?

This year’s theme touches on the very core of creation. To be real with oneself is an inward practice; to be real with others is an unguarded sincerity. Only through authenticity can our work avoid emptiness, and our connections remain genuine.

What does it mean to you, specifically, to keep it real?

To me, ‘real’ has no fixed definition—it’s something each person must discover for themselves. More than the meaning, I care about the keeping—how we stay true to our path amidst constant change, how we hold our rhythm in the midst of noise. Like working with clay, which requires daily practice and presence, both creation and life call us to return inward, again and again, to ensure that our truth is still there.

This year’s theme is all about what makes us unique as creators. How is your expression unique to you?

My work draws from the philosophy of everyday life and quiet observation. Its uniqueness doesn’t lie in bold form, but in a quiet simplicity that speaks directly to the heart. Like a cup of tea or a curl of incense, it may appear subtle, but within it flows the strength of returning to one’s true nature.

What do you think the world needs more of? And less of?

Everything apart from nature needs to be reduced. We've already lost control in our relentless pursuit of power, efficiency, and perfection. As the old saying goes, ‘nothing in excess’—what we truly need is less noise and desire, and more return to the inner self, to listen closely for the voice of what is real within us.

Since its inception in 2013, Signe Byrdal Terenziani has facilitated the growth of the design community in her role as Managing Director. It all began as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2024, over 400 brands exhibited at the festival, where over 45.000 visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, product launches, networking, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly in showrooms and galleries during June, Wednesday to Friday. In 2025 the festival will be held from 18 — 20 June 2025.

Pack your bags, book a hotel and come to Copenhagen! 3daysofdesign is open to the general public and everyone is invited to visit the showrooms, exhibitions, workshops and design talks. All events are free of charge.
