Scandinavian Design Embassy is an initiative aimed at promoting Nordic design companies internationally at Nordic Embassies around the world. It brings together key organisations including the Finnish Design Embassy, Norwegian Design Industry, the Swedish Institute and Svensk Form. Through this partnership, they strengthen the innovative and sustainable design principles that define the Nordic countries. Building on the success of the Finnish Design Embassy initiative, which has been active since 2022, this project has extended the concept to neighbouring countries for an even stronger presence around the world.

Scandinavian Design on the Move is a curated exhibition showcasing contemporary Nordic creativity through products and a featured talk. Hosted at the Residence of the Ambassador of Finland, it offers a unique and intimate setting to experience design. The exhibited works reflect Nordic ways of living, working, and interacting, highlighting current values, materials, and aesthetics. Together, they form a cohesive narrative of today’s Nordic design. The exhibition features both individual and collaborative presentations emphasizing dialogue and shared ambition among participating brands. Featured designers and brands include Mifuko, Finarte, Lapuan Kankurit, Andrea Tsang, Forming Function, Gemla, Hyfer Objects, and G.A.D. & Wroom Furniture.

The Residence is a curated design exhibition taking place during 3daysofdesign in a magnificent apartment in the heart of Copenhagen. The Residence presents an exclusive selection of international brands within a living, atmospheric setting, where spaces are composed as a blend of real–life habitation and art installation. Furniture ought to make room for people. That has been the philosophy since 1942, when FDB Møbler was founded, with architect Børge Mogensen heading up the studio. Many new designers have since entered the fold, but the foundational principles remain the same: To create beautiful, functional and exceptionally crafted furniture that makes room for everyday living at home. FDB Møbler is internationally known as a frontrunner of Danish design. It’s a story of classic pieces to be passed down from generation to generation. Regardless of whether they are talking about iconic pieces or new, innovative designs, the goal is the same: To have the veritable quality of life that was envisioned when the first pieces of furniture emerged in 1942.

Copenhagen based Icelandic designer Dögg Guðmundsdóttir creates nature inspired products with emotional appeal and a distinctive touch of Nordic originality. Many of her designs are based on foundational structures or pieces of art, while others form part of a collection. For this exhibition, nature is not merely an inspiration but an integral part of the essence of the works and of the installation, created in collaboration with Dýpi—an ocean paint made from calcareous algae harvested in Iceland. Dýpi was nominated for the Icelandic Design Awards 2025 for its product that is exceptionally breathable, environmentally friendly, plastic–free, and an innovative use of abundant natural materials.

Furniture is understood as a concept with a will of its own, conveying a distinct expression. Botané is building a new category at the intersection of interior design, sustainability and modern aesthetics. Created to bring botanical design into everyday spaces, Botané offers a lasting alternative to perishability, designed to remain rather than disappear. Approached as an interior discipline, botanical design is treated with the same intention as furniture, objects and architectural elements. Each composition is shaped through proportion, texture and spatial balance, becoming part of how a space is experienced rather than something that fades from it. Elvang creates responsibly produced textiles which combine timeless Nordic design with exquisite Peruvian craftsmanship. Its story is one of ethics, integrity and respect. It began in 2002, when the founders Tina and Lasse Elvang learned about the qualities of alpaca wool during a backpacking trip to Peru. Today the textiles are sold worldwide, and their social and environmental commitment remains unchanged. Making responsible choices lies at the heart of Elvang. This has led to the highest level of recognition within the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) as a Guaranteed Member and participation in the UN Global Compact Initiative, ensuring that their supply chains and business model put people, the planet and animals first.
