Founded in 2018, the curtain studio &Drape create atmosphere and well-being through made-to-measure curtains in private and professional spaces. With a background in design and roots in an old curtain family, &Drape represents a contemporary and curated aesthetic approach to made-to-measure curtains. The founders Julie Vendal & Nadia Al Zagir Balling and their team, customize each curtain styling solution with care to the specific project, creating curtains that shape atmosphere, spark emotion and enhance the personal identity and spatial experience of a space.

Founded in 1874, the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen creates products that encompass the duality of design and light. Every detail in the design has a purpose. imcollective is an architecture and design studio based in Portugal. It uses creative energy to create bold visual identities, robust spaces and objects made to last. AOT is a small family–run design company based in Copenhagen. Driven by challenging materials, they aim to liberate these materials from what is expected of them. Inventing new hand–made processes is a core element of their practice where doing things the conventionally 'wrong' way, has proved to be ideal for creating things that are both original and classic. Things that are easy to read yet easy on the eye! AOT is both a design studio and a production house and everything they produce is made in Denmark — either in–house or with carefully sourced producers. This is a key part of AOT, as it enables their insistence and audacity to create things that are hand-made in Denmark and still affordable.

Tools for Everyday Life is a project showcasing the community of practice surrounding the BA Furniture and Product Design programme at Northumbria University. This community has evolved through a dialogical approach to teaching and learning, where academic and technical staff act as facilitators in an ongoing process of shared inquiry with students. The project sets design briefs to create everyday objects that bring joy in use, proposing artefacts that recognise and celebrate the innumerable skilled actions that shape daily life. The aim is to draw inspiration from materials and processes that not only define the objects people interact with but also shape the relationship with the surrounding environment.
