Established in 2020 in Armenia as a creative social enterprise, OCHRE merges artistic ideas with artisanal expertise to craft objects for everyday life. Each creation carries an intimate gesture, revealing the artist’s vision and tracing the movement of the artisan’s hand. At the heart of OCHRE’s practice is wool—a material that serves as both a physical foundation and a source of reflection. Yet wool is a starting point, never an obligatory final destination. In recent years, OCHRE’s collaborations have expanded into the world of embroidery and the many legacies preserved by Armenian communities. OCHRE creates objects for everyday life, guided by a search for more sustainable ways of relating to materials, to histories, and to one another.
