Established in 2020 in Armenia, OCHRE merges artistic ideas with artisanal expertise to craft objects for everyday life. At the heart of OCHRE’s practice is wool—a material that serves as both a physical foundation and a source of reflection. Yet wool is a starting point, never an obligatory final destination. In recent years, OCHRE’s collections have expanded into the world of embroidery, ceramics, and beyond. OCHRE creates objects for everyday life, guided by a search for more sustainable ways of relating to materials, to histories, and to one another.
For the first participation at 3daysofdesign, OCHRE will present The Grains, the most recent collection, in dialogue with Prelude, one of its earliest collections. Presented together, the two collections trace a shared sensitivity to material, rhythm, and the language of the hand. This encounter highlights different moments within OCHRE’s practice, from wool as a foundational material in the blankets from Prelude to embroidery as a carrier of cultural memory in the textile pieces and ceramics from The Grains, while forming a unified spatial narrative. Conceived as an open framework, the installation invites dialogue, exchange, and reflection, allowing the objects to evolve through their encounter with an international audience.
