New Light Pottery is a lighting manufacturer based in the ancient former Japanese capital of Nara. Founded in 2015 by designers Hiroyuki Nagatomi and Chizu Nara, the company creates understated designs that highlight the textures and natural beauty of brass, glass, ceramic and traditional Japanese washi paper. Each lamp is handcrafted in Japan by skilled artisans. Supporting Japanese craftsmanship and the artisans who keep these traditions alive has been central to New Light Pottery’s mission from the very beginning. Keeping production in Japan also allows for minor adjustments, special orders and unique finishes.

New Light Pottery will exhibit as part of the Japanmade Vol 1. exhibition. Japanmade Vol.1, a focused exhibition celebrating contemporary Japanese design and craftsmanship, will debut during 3daysofdesign 2026 from 10-12 June at Damfærgevej 2 in Copenhagen. New Light Pottery's lamps fuse timeless design and high-quality craftsmanship that will last for generations. The exhibition features a selection of lamps made of brass, glass, ceramics, wood and washi paper, and offers a rare opportunity to get a close look at the exceptional work of Japan's artisans. The exhibition is curated by OEO Studio and produced by Jens H. Jensen

Lasting change begins at the smallest scale. No detail is too little, no problem too small, no emotion trivial and no person irrelevant. In a time defined by environmental and social challenges, design becomes a tool for care, attention, and responsibility, where every step matters and every effort counts. At Lund University School of Industrial Design, education is grounded in curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world engagement. Students question, test, and refine, engaging with people and contexts, bringing together diverse perspectives. The school fosters a new generation of designers who create with intent and awareness. Their work reflects a shift from producing more to creating meaningful impact. Because Every Thing Matters.

For 3daysofdesign, Chylak presents a series of site–specific works in bobbin lace, developed for the Copenhagen flagship store Baum und Pferdgarten. Rooted in a shared cultural narrative between Copenhagen and Warsaw, the works draw on the story of Bertel Thorvaldsen’s monument to Józef Poniatowski and its journey across time and place. At the centre of the exhibition is the horse motif, reinterpreted through delicate lace into a light, almost transparent structure bridging history, craftsmanship, and contemporary fashion. Installed in dialogue with the space, the works form a subtle “lace entrance,” creating a layered, immersive environment.
