Founded in New York in 1902, Maharam is a leading creator of textiles for commercial and residential interiors whose design business also stewards the legacies and ongoing design direction of Edelman and Knoll Textiles. Recognized for its rigorous and holistic commitment to design, Maharam embraces a range of disciplines from product, graphic, and digital design to art and architecture. Responsible for the leather and textile product offerings of Edelman, Knoll Textiles, and Maharam, the design studio is dedicated to introducing a fresh perspective through a focus on aesthetic and industrial innovation augmented by long-term, interdisciplinary collaborations.
Maharam marks its multibrand, European debut of Edelman, Knoll Textiles, and Maharam. A dynamic presentation system by American industrial designer Leon Ransmeier—titled Stick Frame—will display eighteen new and recent products from across the three brands. Edelman’s showcase highlights a recent collaboration with Ilse Crawford that centers around color. Knoll Textiles’ presentation previews several reissued archival upholsteries—including Altiplano by Sheila Hicks, 1966—along with innovative window coverings. Maharam’s offering comprises products designed for reduced environmental impact, ongoing collaborations with designers Paul Smith and Sander Lak, and a reissue of an iconic design by Alexander Girard.
