Koukos de Lab is a material–driven design studio based in Lesvos, Greece, exploring sustainable design through research, experimentation, and local production. The studio develops innovative materials and objects by transforming agricultural by–products into meaningful design resources. At the core of its practice is Koukoutsi, an eco–material made from the final waste of olive oil production, primarily olive cores and pips. Designed as a sustainable alternative to conventional materials, Koukoutsi combines durability, water resistance, and a distinctive tactile quality. Suitable for objects, furniture, and surface applications, it reflects Koukos de Lab’s commitment to circular design and responsible material transformation today, locally.

Paper Collective is a Copenhagen–based curator and creator of exclusive collections across art, craft and design. EETAL is a project launched in 2021 by Japan Benex Corporation, a company specialising in precision sheet metal processing technology. Through collaborations with designers, it reconsiders the creative potential of sheet metal from multiple perspectives. Embracing an experimental approach, the project challenges conventional notions of industrial production and explores new dialogues between sheet metal and design. The name "EETAL" originates from "SHEET METAL." It combines "EET" from "SHEET" and "TAL" from "METAL," forming a coined term that symbolises the new form of sheet metal they strive to create.
