What started back in 2012 as a one–man show has now, in little more than a decade, become an established European design brand: Freifrau Manufaktur. Operating from Lemgo, a small town in Westphalia, Germany, this exclusive manufacturer of seating furniture is characterised by the highest possible levels of comfort, lovingly–rendered details, and exacting quality and sustainability standards. Sausset Leou is an architecture studio born from the affinity of its founders, grounded in a poetic, vernacular, and radical approach to spatial design. During their architectural studies at ENSA Paris Val de Seine, Kim and Rémy worked together on alternative design projects through shared studio workshops. Sausset Leou asserts a rigorous sensibility and a precise sense of poetry. Their approach combines formal rigour with narrative freedom, rejecting hierarchies between building typologies. Each project is conceived as a sensitive reinterpretation of the history of places and people. The aim is to make beauty accessible to everyone, without distinction.
