Tiles as objects of possibility. Tiles that leave a sensory imprint. Tiles connecting future and past, design and craftsmanship, Japan and the world. Alternative Artefacts Danto is a dialogue between tiles and contemporary design. The new brand, also known as A.a. Danto, explores the possibilities of tiles as interior objects, pushing the boundaries of material, form and function.

Soft. Rising. Curved. Floating. Hanging. Here, the meaning of tile is deconstructed and reimagined for modern daily life. Rooted in a long history of tile production, A.a. Danto brings together material research, technical knowledge and contemporary design. The brand explores what ceramic tiles can become when freed from convention—elements that shape space, surface and the rituals of daily life. Each collection is developed in close dialogue with designers and architects, balancing material heritage with ongoing experimentation. For 3daysofdesign 2026, A.a. Danto presents new collections in collaboration with Claesson Koivisto Rune and Ingegerd Råman. Alongside them Teruhiro Yanagihara Studio presents Nougat and Fabric, now in Copenhagen.

Today the textiles are sold worldwide, and their social and environmental commitment remains unchanged. Making responsible choices lies at the heart of Elvang. This has led to the highest level of recognition within the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) as a Guaranteed Member and participation in the UN Global Compact Initiative, ensuring that their supply chains and business model put people, the planet and animals first.
