Throughout history, tools have been crucial to humanity’s ability to survive and innovate, from primitive stone tools to advanced machinery, tools have been key to shaping the world. VÆRKTØJ is an exhibition format that aims to communicate and demonstrate how the identities of designers are largely shaped by the tools they use; as tools not only drive the development of ideas and creative processes but also leave a distinct mark on the final product.

Værktøj 3—This year’s exhibition focuses on the sewing machine, which serves as the starting point for all works. Participants: Erwan Bouroullec, Frederik Gustav, Foster + Partners Industrial Design, Jonas Trampedach, Kasper Salto, Louise Campbell, Lærke Ryom, Michael Antrobus, Pearson Lloyd, Sia Hurtigkarl.

Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt creates exclusive bespoke lighting pieces. Working with plexiglass and brass, she develops lamps shaped by a close dialogue between colour, transparency, and form. Layered hues and shifting light create depth and visual presence, while patinated brass adds a warmer, tactile tone. Each lamp is a sculptural object that brings a composed architectural presence to a space. She also creates larger installations by grouping multiple lamps. Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt collaborates with Nilufar Gallery in Milan and designs for Gubi.

Warm Nordic is a famous Danish Furniture and Lighting design brand anchored in Scandinavian design history. The company believes that good design, radiates the quality, authenticity, and warmth inherent in the Scandinavian Design tradition. Warm Nordic features a design universe, created by world famous Scandinavian architects from the timeless Mid Modern period in the fifties and sixties.
