Throughout history, tools have been crucial to humanity’s ability to survive and innovate, from primitive stone tools to advanced machinery, tools have been key to shaping the world. VÆRKTØJ is an exhibition format that aims to communicate and demonstrate how the identities of designers are largely shaped by the tools they use; as tools not only drive the development of ideas and creative processes but also leave a distinct mark on the final product.

Værktøj 3—This year’s exhibition focuses on the sewing machine, which serves as the starting point for all works. Participants: Erwan Bouroullec, Frederik Gustav, Foster + Partners Industrial Design, Jonas Trampedach, Kasper Salto, Louise Campbell, Lærke Ryom, Michael Antrobus, Pearson Lloyd, Sia Hurtigkarl.

Gudbrandsdalens Uldvarefabrik (GU) is a Norwegian textile manufacturer based in Lillehammer, known for its craftsmanship, material expertise, and timeless design. Pit–To–Table is a materials manufacturer transforming agricultural waste into sustainable interior surfaces. Produced in Cyprus, Pit–Board is a bio–composite panel made from discarded olive pits sourced from local olive farms. By turning an abundant by–product of the olive industry into a functional design material, Pit–To–Table supports circular production and reduces waste. Designed for interior architecture and furniture applications, Pit–Board combines natural texture with durability and a warm, distinctive appearance. The material offers designers a renewable alternative to conventional boards while connecting contemporary spaces to Mediterranean agricultural heritage.

HAUSMANN Furniture is a design studio dedicated to solid wood furniture and interior objects, operating between Barcelona and Copenhagen. Founded by designer and cabinetmaker Mike Hausmann, the studio explores the relationship between design, material, and construction. Rooted in traditional joinery, its work balances Mediterranean clarity with Northern European sensibility. Positioned between craftsmanship and contemporary making, the studio translates time-honored techniques into a quiet, wabi-sabi approach, creating furniture that integrates naturally into a space. The studio incorporates independent designer practices as well as custom projects with collaborative partners.

Foyos is a modular work furniture system that bridges living and working spaces. Launched in March 2026, it is built on the conviction that function and aesthetics are not opposites. In collaboration with designer Mark Braun, the collection reinterprets classic workshop archetypes and translates them into a contemporary design language. Solid oak, precise wood joinery and durable materials form its structural foundation. Produced with trusted partners in Germany and across Europe. The system of worktables, wall and storage modules combines and adapts easily to different working styles and spaces. Intuitive and functional in use, restrained and clear in expression, open to individual configurations.
