Fascinated by the tension that lies between natural materials and contemporary design and manufacture, Tom Fereday develops unique designs originating from an intrinsic inquiry into the role of objects today. Built on the principle of honest design Tom Fereday’s work celebrates the materials and manufacture behind furniture and objects, guiding considered and thoughtful design outcomes that explore the notion of quiet innovation. Born in Australia, Tom Fereday grew up in London, England studying sculpture and graphic design at the Wimbledon School of Art before moving to Australia to complete an honours in Industrial Design at the UTS Sydney. Working across Europe and Australia Tom Fereday went on to found his sole practice in 2012.

Tom Fereday presents his latest collection of furniture editions as part of exhibition Design / Dialogue in collaboration with Ark Journal; presented in the industrial Pakhus 11 building.

Furniture is a concept with a will of its own, conveying a unique expression. The ambition of Källemo is to produce objects that endure over time — aesthetically, artistically, physically, and metaphysically. Sven Lundh, the founder of Källemo in its present form, expressed, "An object shall stand the wear of the eye!" That's where the toughest wear occurs. Källemo collaborates with designers and artists who understand the essence of quality - achievement unaffected by trends, while also possessing the ability to surprise and challenge, contributing their own personal expressions. Källemo places its belief in the precision of cutting-edge technology, but equally values the hand that applies the final personal, magical touch.
