MUKAKASA is a lifestyle brand rooted in AfriScandi design—blending Scandinavian minimalism with the rich craftsmanship of Uganda. Founded by sisters Christine Mukakasa and Elizabeth Okafor, the brand redefines modern luxury through culturally expressive, homeware crafted from natural Ugandan clay. MUKAKASA’s collections are a response to the need to enrich our living spaces, offering timeless pieces that are both functional and sustainable. Each object is a reflection of heritage, health, and harmony—made to be lived with, cherished, and passed on.

Set against the historical backdrop of the Lapidarium of Kings, MUKAKASA invites you to explore their all–natural, toxin–free ceramic drink ware collection, crafted from Uganda's natural clay. This captivating exhibition intertwines modern craftsmanship with timeless artistry, offering a unique experience adjacent to the Royal collection of sculptures and natural stone figures. At the DDcated design hub, discover the fusion of Danish design and Ugandan craftsmanship, where every piece tells a compelling story of sustainability, cultural heritage, and innovative artistry.

Furniture ought to make room for people. That has been the philosophy since 1942, when FDB Møbler was founded, by architect Børge Mogensen. Many new designers have since entered the fold, but the foundational principles remain the same: to create beautiful, functional and exceptionally crafted furniture that makes room for everyday living at home. FDB Møbler is internationally known as a frontrunner of Danish design. It’s a story of classic pieces to be passed down from generation to generation. Regardless of whether they are talking about iconic pieces or new, innovative designs, the goal is the same: To have the veritable quality of life that was envisioned when the first pieces of furniture emerged in 1942.

These two aspects are expressed by the group in the way it develops not only individual products with a unique personality, but in its ability to put forth a complete project that conveys a distinct mood by merging different entities. AOT is a small family–run design company based in Copenhagen. Driven by challenging materials, they aim to liberate these materials from what is expected of them. Inventing new hand–made processes is a core element of their practice where doing things the conventionally 'wrong' way, has proved to be ideal for creating things that are both original and classic. Things that are easy to read yet easy on the eye! AOT is both a design studio and a production house and everything they produce is made in Denmark — either in–house or with carefully sourced producers. This is a key part of AOT, as it enables their insistence and audacity to create things that are hand-made in Denmark and still affordable.

Their approach emphasises a deep connection to everyday forms, materials, and sensory experiences, transforming them into objects that resonate with emotional and functional significance.
