What began over 20 years ago as a spontaneous experiment in Tom Rossau’s Copenhagen workshop has evolved into a distinctive design philosophy. While shaping wooden slats into a cylindrical form, Tom discovered the expressive potential of light, material, and form, and a new chapter in Danish lighting design was born. Today, the collection has grown to include a wide range of materials and styles, yet the brand remains rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and sculptural design. Each lamp is still meticulously designed and handcrafted in Copenhagen, with a strong focus on quality and responsible production, bringing Danish design to interiors around the world.

SAIKAIHOP, by Saikai Europe, traces its origins to the Japanese town of Hasami, where the history of porcelain production and innovation spans more than 400 years. As a subsidiary of ceramics trading company Saikai Toki, Saikai Europe’s operations centre on a lineup of original brands merging contemporary design with Hasami’s manufacturing expertise. In addition to its in–house collections, Saikai Europe provides distribution services in the European market, working closely with Japanese brands and makers dedicated to quality, craftsmanship and the creation of timeless wares. Bundle Studio is a Copenhagen based design studio working at the intersection of material research and industrial furniture production. The studio develops furniture and objects through a hands on process where structure, material behavior and construction define the expression. The practice includes work with natural fibre composites and biobased adhesives. With a curiosity for new and bio based materials, each project explores how emerging materials shape form, tactility and use. Rather than applying a predefined style, the studio lets material logic guide proportion and detail. The work aims to support a gradual green transition within the furniture industry through design and long term collaborations with manufacturers.

BIRDMIND is a Spanish company developing circular materials for architecture and interior design. Based in Galicia, it transforms agricultural waste into high–performance, sustainable solutions through applied research and industrial processes. Its flagship product, Rice Tab, is a technical board made from rice husks, offering durability, versatility and key properties such as fire resistance, water repellency, anti–fungal performance and being formaldehyde–free. Produced with renewable energy, zero water footprint and a closed–loop system, BIRDMIND materials are designed for real applications in interiors, furniture, retail and contract, demonstrating that sustainability and performance can go hand in hand.

During 3daysofdesign, the Italian Embassy in Denmark, in collaboration with the Italian Danish design studio Rinata Milano, is proud to present a special exhibition hosted within the elegant reception rooms of its residence in Copenhagen, with the participation of selected representatives of Italian design and craftsmanship.
