At their workshop on Portugal's Silver Coast, De La Espada combines artisanal furniture making savoir faire with rigorous, research–based contemporary design. Their portfolio of iconic and timeless pieces includes designs by their in–house studio, De La Espada Atelier, and by great figures in the world of international design. Specialising in woodworking and upholstery, they also collaborate with Portuguese artisans across disciplines. De La Espada sits at the heart of design and craft in Portugal and represents true luxury: creativity rather than imitation; extensive research and development; traditional methods that are in scarce supply; a singular aesthetic point–of–view; and no compromise when it comes to materials or effort.

It’s all about furniture heritage and family heritage. Founded in 2024 by Edward Gubi, a third–generation member of the GUBI family, DesignPreowned is built on a passion for preserving and renewing design history. Together with his team, Edward Gubi sources and acquires pre–owned furniture primarily from Scandinavia—often overlooked classics from the 1930s to the 1980s—which are carefully restored and upcycled to fit contemporary interiors.

His artisanal skill and artistic talent combined with his continuous ability to identify and support design talent was the foundation on which he built Georg Jensen in Copenhagen in 1904. Our most important task is to leverage the ideas and principles of the master himself and translate these into the design of the present day.
