Ingo Maurer
At the Alice Folker Gallery, Ingo Maurer presents three new lighting objects that reflect how the design studio approaches light: as a medium for storytelling, transformation, and continuous surprise. NALUM is inspired by the movement of ocean waves—light flows through its curved form, accompanied by tiny surfer figures that add a whimsical sense of motion. Shhh! challenges perception: a glowing lightbulb appears to rest within oversized headphones—a quiet homage to light that blurs the line between function and illusion. With Jasna Kuchnia, five stacked porcelain plates become a sculptural wall light. When illuminated, a painted matchstick that seems to spark into flame through light alone.
