In a world where landfills are overflowing, and oceans bear the burden of the debris we discard, waste is no longer out of sight, nor out of mind. This session asks a crucial question: in the face of excess, does the world really need another design? Featuring guest speaker Natsai Audrey Chieza, a Zimbabwe–born British designer, followed by Caroline Till, founder of future design consultancy TILT and Anette Timmer, Head of Sustainability at Tarkett, the “Waste“ session explores the design industry’s role in confronting overproduction, rethinking materials, and redefining value. Challenging us to consider whether creating less might, in fact, lead to more meaningful designs.
