Conversations and Connections

The launch of our Long Table Dinners.

This year, we set out to try something new.

We know that many of our visitors come to 3daysofdesign not only to find inspiration – but to find connection. Beyond the exhibitions and events. We feel that a big part of our role as a discovery-driven design festival is to help make those connections happen. To connect people with designers. Designers with the press. To connect everyone with the ideas shaping our time. And, perhaps most importantly, to connect them with each other.

So we had an idea.

We wanted to gather people together for dinner around long tables, situated in each of our 8 Design Districts across the city. To create an opportunity for everyone to have a seat at the table. We wanted every dinner to have its own atmosphere, its own storytelling and its own rhythm. Where the menu, the conversations and the setting would all be shaped by the place itself. And we wanted those places to be something out of the ordinary. Even if that meant opening doors to venues where people would not normally sit down for dinner.

Ambitious, we know. But amazing things happen when you pursue a wish based on “what if”. Looking back, we're so glad we did.

@Andreas Aicka Thomsen

Our Long Table Dinners became exactly what we had hoped for. They became the setting for meaningful connections, unexpected encounters, and what some describe as truly magical moments.

Guests came from countless differentcultures and continents. From Africa to America from Singapore to Spain, and from Brazil to China. You could hear laughter and loads of different accents. Yet once everyone sat together to share a table, those differences quickly disappeared. Conversations flowed between strangers. Stories were shared. New friendships were formed. Ideas were exchanged across the table as naturally as the food itself.

The incredible variety of truly sumptuous meals. The exquisite wines. The gardens, rooftops, mansions, boats, and modern warehouses where people dined. Not to mention the evocative atmosphere of each. Everything set the scene for people to focus on each other.

That's the beautiful thing about sharing a meal. It slows us down. It beckons us to be present. Curious. To listen a little more carefully, and speak a little more openly than we might otherwise.

Everyone shared a myriad of moments, inspiredby an imperative to make each moment matter. In a memorable, deliciousexperience that so many visitors didn’t want to end.

3daysofdesign is Denmark’s annual design festival, conceived as a platform to showcase and celebrate great design. It’s the opportunity to meet, network and be inspired by designs from local and global talent. The informal atmosphere welcomes people to engage directly with design brands at stunning locations all over Copenhagen.

Since its inception in 2013, Signe Byrdal Terenziani has facilitated the growth of the design community in her role as Managing Director. It all began as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2025, over 460 brands exhibited at the festival, where over 60.000 visitors could choose from as many as 600+ events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, product launches, networking, etc.

3daysofdesign takes place every year in Copenhagen mainly in showrooms and galleries during June, Wednesday to Friday. In 2026 the festival will be held from 10— 12 June.

Pack your bags, book a hotel and come to Copenhagen! 3daysofdesign is open to the general public and everyone is invited to visit the showrooms, exhibitions, workshops and design talks. All events are free of charge.
