David Colwell Design is a practice focused on the future—sustainable, practical and innovative. The work begins not with aesthetics, but with performance. Flexibility is central to the seating’s exceptional comfort and reflects a belief in adaptability. Using locally sourced green ash, sawn lengths are steam–bent and cured as part of the making process. Components are joined with innovative tubular rivets designed to work with the wood’s natural engineering potential. The process is efficient, enjoyable and supported by a deliberately short supply chain.

New Light Pottery is a lighting manufacturer based in the ancient former Japanese capital of Nara. Founded in 2015 by designers Hiroyuki Nagatomi and Chizu Nara, the company creates understated designs that highlight the textures and natural beauty of brass, glass, ceramic and traditional Japanese washi paper. Each lamp is handcrafted in Japan by skilled artisans. Supporting Japanese craftsmanship and the artisans who keep these traditions alive has been central to New Light Pottery’s mission from the very beginning. Keeping production in Japan also allows for minor adjustments, special orders and unique finishes.

Fogia’s mission as a furniture maker is to turn exceptional ideas into well–crafted pieces. At its centre is the factory, where wood, textiles and skilled hands come together, giving designers and craftspeople the time to explore how sketches become lasting objects. The aim is to create furniture that people grow attached to over time. This comes from balancing function with friction—the detail, tension or gesture that gives character. One without the other is incomplete. Working closely with designers who question conventions with finesse, Fogia shapes furniture that feels considered. EETAL is a project launched in 2021 by Japan Benex Corporation, a company specialising in precision sheet metal processing technology. Through collaborations with designers, it reconsiders the creative potential of sheet metal from multiple perspectives. Embracing an experimental approach, the project challenges conventional notions of industrial production and explores new dialogues between sheet metal and design. The name "EETAL" originates from "SHEET METAL." It combines "EET" from "SHEET" and "TAL" from "METAL," forming a coined term that symbolises the new form of sheet metal they strive to create.

Gudbrandsdalens Uldvarefabrik (GU) is a Norwegian textile manufacturer based in Lillehammer, known for its craftsmanship, material expertise, and timeless design. Rooted in Norwegian nature and tradition, GU develops upholstery textiles that combine aesthetics, durability, and sustainability. All production takes place locally, with every stage—from spinning to weaving and finishing—carried out under one roof. This ensures full control over quality, traceability, and responsible production. With a deep understanding of wool’s natural properties, GU refines and reinterprets the material to meet the needs of contemporary interiors.

Kaikale is an India-based furniture brand rooted in local craftsmanship and people-driven making. In collaboration with the Scandinavian architect Alexander Mihel, the work brings together traditional Indian carpentry and Scandinavian design principles. Kaikale x Alexander Mihel presents a furniture collection developed over 2,5 years through a hands-on collaborative process. The collection is made using carpentry-based methods, working with established hardwoods and also experimenting with non-forest timber such as coconut timber. In India, the coconut tree has traditionally been fully utilised, with every part used. The furniture continues this approach by giving coconut wood a long life as durable, long-lasting pieces.
