This year, ARCHITECTMADE will showcase new releases from Kristian Vedel. Renowned for his iconic BIRD, Vedel’s designs reflect his visionary approach to functionality and simplicity. His enduring work continues to inspire the brand’s dedication to creating timeless pieces that stand as an alternative to throwaway culture.

Nychair X is a folding lounge chair designed in 1970 by Takeshi Nii, continuously made in Japan. The simple yet elegant design, combined with comfort, versatility, and repairability, made Nychair X a chair loved by generations. Thanks to its light weight and foldability, it can be easily moved between rooms and does not take much space when folded, making it a great companion for contemporary multifunctional living spaces. By collaborating with fabric designers or brands like Carhartt WIP, Nychair X reaches out to new audiences while cherishing its original principles. Maintenance can be performed at home, and different parts can be replaced, so the chair can be enjoyed for many years. Awarded with Long Life Design and Good Design awards.

Swiss based USM Modular Furniture has been providing timeless and high–quality modular furniture designs suitable for both home and office environments for 60 years. Recognised as a design classic, USM Modular Furniture was formally accepted into the permanent Design Collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), confirming the artistic character of the product. Created from a few basic elements, the company’s furniture offers tailor–made solutions that can be expanded or reconfigured as needed. Each furniture piece allows room for maximum versatility and creativity. To encourage long-term use, all of the USM product lines are made from high–quality materials for strength and durability to last for generations.

In differential geometry, the Grassmann product—represented by a wedge—constructs higher–dimensional objects through the addition of existing dimensions. WEDGE channels this mathematical operation as both metaphor and method. The studio explores the space between abstraction and matter, using technologies like binder jet 3D printing, LIDAR scanning, and computational modelling to redefine how materials behave and how forms emerge. Through recursive design systems and material experimentation, Wedge builds contemporary furniture and spatial objects that encode process, perception, and precision.

With three decades of activity, Desalto stands as both a youthful and time-honoured brand—a dynamic spirit that seamlessly blends iconic seating and complements, resembling graphic forms sketched in the air, with tables as versatile as daily life itself. The narrative began in 1990 when the four Orsenigo brothers, heirs to a family metalworking business, envisioned a company more attuned to contemporary trends. They sought collaboration with designers, fostering diverse perspectives that align with the same corporate philosophy centred on fundamental values of harmony and elegance.

Kjaer + Loege is a Norwegian design company founded in 2022 by Mette Kjær Enger Løge and Lars Løge, with Antonio Cascos Chamizo as Head of Design. The company introduces Architectural Electronics, a new design category where functionality meets aesthetics. Its sockets, dimmers, and light switches are crafted from oak and concrete, offering a tactile quality beyond plastic solutions. By reducing plastic and using durable, recyclable materials, it provides a sustainable alternative to conventional wall products. The KLOSS collection blends Scandinavian craftsmanship with smart and non-smart solutions, seamlessly integrating electronics into interior architecture.

Established in 2017, Fischersund is a family–run art collective and niche perfumery based in Reykjavik, Iceland. Founded by four siblings—Inga, Jónsi, Sigurrós, and Lilja—the brand serves as a creative platform using scent, visual arts and music. Sensorial design and storytelling are used to create immersive experiences including unique perfumes, scented concerts and exhibitions. Music is used to tell the story of scent. Like perfume is composed of olfactory notes, the sounds of Fischersund are carefully crafted to create an atmosphere that transports the listener to Iceland. Together, Jónsi (of Sigur Rós), Sindri and Kjartan have composed 30 pieces of music that reflect the ethereal fragrances and bring the brand to life through sound.
