Founded in 1920 by Commander Adelino Dias Costa, Adico began its journey manufacturing iron beds. By the 1930s, the company had expanded into hospital furniture and introduced a signature line of outdoor tables and chairs—most notably, the iconic Portuguese Chair. Since the 1990s, Adico has been at the forefront of innovation, focusing on the creation of contemporary indoor and outdoor furniture. With a strong commitment to design and technology, Adico continues to stand out in both national and international markets as a symbol of quality, tradition, and modernity.

Trained as an architect, Finn Juhl approached furniture as an artistic discipline rather than a purely functional task. His work challenged established ideas of construction and use, introducing sculptural forms and a clear sense of proportion that helped shape Danish modernism. For more than two decades, House of Finn Juhl has held the exclusive rights to revive and produce Finn Juhl’s furniture designs, working to preserve the intent and principles behind his work—an approach that continues to resonate across generations.

A Danish design brand, and concept store founded in 1953 in the heart of Copenhagen by Hagbarth Skjalm Petersen and his spouse Lisbeth Westergaard.
