The mission and calling of Ábbatte is to use manual looms to create lovely textile objects that become part of our lives, transform usefulness into beauty, and leave their mark on our souls—fabrics that closely intertwine an aesthetic perception and a philosophy of life. These exquisitely refined fabrics are pure and genuine beauty, eschewing all ornamentation. They are warm, sophisticated, and restrained. Ábbatte creates these fabrics to be pleasant to the sight as well as to the touch. They envelop us and become our second skin by developing our sense of touch—the most atavistic of the senses—which has an enormous impact on our sensitivity.
